filtered water faucetYour kitchen faucet may be in prime, working order, but chances are there are some convenient kitchen faucet features that you’re missing out on. Here are some useful features in a kitchen faucet that might inspire you to switch to something new for your kitchen sink.

Single lever

A single-lever faucet in the kitchen makes it easy to flip on the water with just one hand, at whatever temperature you happen to need. This comes in especially handy when you might be carrying dishes or cleaning tools in one hand and have only one hand free to turn on your faucet. If there’s any faucet in your home that needs a single level over two levers, it’s your kitchen faucet. A single-level faucet might have the lever positioned right on the faucet or right next to the faucet.

Motion sensor

Yep—this is a feature that you can have on your kitchen faucet as well. If you don’t like the motion sensor option for your sink, you might consider a touch sensitive kitchen faucet.

Pullout

While a side spray is a useful feature to have in your faucet, a pullout faucet is ultimately much more powerful and requires making fewer holes in the counter space surrounding your sink. A pullout feature in your faucet makes it extremely easy to clean dishes and clear food out of the sink.

Variable flow

Variable flow allow you to switch between flow rates (a feature you’ll often find on pullout faucet heads).

Adjustable height

One oft-overlooked feature in kitchen faucets is adjustable height. Many faucets these days can be raised and lowered to allow you to, say, fill an extra large pot or vase with water.

Filtration

Did you know that you can actually enjoy the convenience of filtration right on your kitchen faucet? Specialized filtration faucets can be installed right next to your main kitchen faucet to provide cold, filtered water for drinking.

Soap or lotion dispenser

You can also add a soap or lotion dispenser at your faucet area to ensure that soap or lotion will always be within easy reach. This is a great option to go with not only for convenience, but also for scenarios when you might be looking to use an existing hole in your countertop (left by a side spray, for example). A soap or lotion dispenser can also give your sink area a more minimalist look, as you won’t need to stand soap or lotion bottles next to your sink.
